SERVICE DESCRIPTION:
The Emergency Section is a 24-hour service unit dedicated to immediate and competent first contact care of patients whose conditions require prompt attention. With its goal to stabilize patients and help them get through the acute and critical phases of their illness, trauma or injury, the Emergency Room is composed of:
- 2 Critical Care Units
- 6 Treatment Cubicles
- Minor Operating Room
- Trauma Area
- Isolation Room which can hold patients with chicken pox, tuberculosis, measles
- Decontamination Room
- Observation/Holding Room for the evaluation and treatment of patients with conditions that require more extended testing or treatment than can be done in the Emergency Section
- Ambulance Transport Unit for pick-up, transfer and home care services
The Emergency Department also uses advance medical equipment for the evaluation and treatment of complicated medical conditions. Its capabilities include:
- cardio pulmonary resuscitation for adult and pediatric cases
- initial wound care management for trauma and burn
- first aid treatment in relation to ingestion of all types of harmful substances, food poisoning, over dosage of all types of medicines including illegal drugs
- bite management
- accommodation and isolation of patients with airborne diseases/ highly infectious diseases
- generation of order for patients requiring admission
- consultation and initial diagnostic work-up
