ADMISSION

Admission Procedure

  1. Upon arrival at the Emergency Room, you will be assisted by our friendly ER staff.
  2. You will be given an ER Admission Slip and Information Dissemination Slip and will be allowed to proceed to the Admitting Section.
  3. The Admitting Staff will interview you and will attend to your queries and explain all necessary hospital protocols.
  4. You or your relative will be assisted by the Admitting Staff in filling out the necessary forms for admission.
  5. You will be oriented on the Hospital Rules and Regulations after which you will be endorsed to the Emergency Room.

Pediatrics Patients Admission Process during Covid-19 Pandemic

1. The patient for admission shall undergo triage screening and shall be facilitated by triage screener and Emergency Nurse and seen by the Resident on Duty (ROD). The pediatric admitting order shall be filled out. Proceed to the ADMISSION given the following Covid-19 guidelines:

  • a. All Covid-19 Case (Suspect/Probable) and patients with Positive RAgt, do RT-PCR test and chest radiograph shall be admitted at Orange Ward 3A.
  • b. All Covid-19 Case (Confirmed/Positive) shall be admitted at Orange Ward 3B.
  • c. Strictly NO Cohorting of patients.
  • d. Cohorting of Covid-19 Positive patient is possible if approved by Attending Physician (AP) and Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist (IDS).
  • e. Nebulization/Suctioning on WARD 3A and EB are not ALLOWED unless permitted by IPC or PEDIA IDS, and provided that the patient is admitted on isolated negative pressure room.
  • f. Only ONE companion is allowed per patient, additional companion once with approval by PEDIA IDS.

2. The patient who DO NOT fulfill the criteria for Covid-19 Case shall proceed to Non-Covid Ward at 4th Floor.

Adult Patients Admission Process during Covid-19 Pandemic

1. The patient for admission shall undergo triage screening and shall be facilitated by triage screener and Emergency Nurse and seen by the Resident on Duty (ROD). The pediatric admitting order shall be filled out. Proceed to the ADMISSION given the following Covid-19 guidelines:

  • a.  For Non-Emergency Private WITHOUT signs and symptoms/No history of Covid-19 exposure shall undergo Chest X-Ray, RAgt and RT-PCR depending on Attending Physician order.
  • b. For Non-Emergency Private WITH signs and symptoms the patient shall undergo Chest Radiograph, RT PCR, RAgt to help the Attending Physician to decide in starting Antiviral treatment.
  • c. For Walk-In Emergency Patient/Non-Pregnant, all patients regardless of presence of signs and symptoms shall undergo Chest Radiograph and RT PCR.

2. All admission will be at Transition Room (Orange Ward 3rd Floor).

3. No visitors relative and visitors allowed.

4. Cohorting of Suspect/ Probable patient is not allowed.    

ADMISSION - DURING COVID-19 SETUP

Admission Process

For medical management from ER the patient received admission slip and instructed by nurse on duty to proceed to admission section for room availability and admission process. 

If you have HMO or Health Insurance Company that you are planning to use, please present your card together with your valid ID to admitting staff upon admission. The admitting staff will report to your HMO or health insurance company regarding your admission and to know the coverage. 

HMO Accredited

For non-HMO or Health Insurance Company patients. 

All patients for admission do not require a down payment. Partial payment shall be applied after 24 hours of admission.

INPATIENT SURGERY

For patient scheduled to undergo surgery

With HMO or Health Insurance Company.

Upon receiving the admitting order from your Attending Physician, you can proceed to HMO Department for pre – approval of your surgery. This is to ensure that the procedure is covered by your HMO or health insurance company prior the date of your admission.

HMO Accredited

NON – HMO or Self Pay Patient

All scheduled surgery shall accomplish billing clearance 24 hours prior to surgery. If the patient is admitted the day of the surgery, billing clearance must be facilitated an hour prior to surgery. The partial payment will depend to the type of surgery if it is minor, medium or major surgery.

For emergency surgery, the necessary care will be given until the patient condition is stabilized. Billing clearance may require after the following day office hour.

Admission of patient who availed GCMCB packages:

Approved packages advised from their Physicians shall only be facilitated. 

All approved hospital packages are not entitled to person with disability, senior citizen and stockholder.

Complimentary Admitting Kit

A handy bag with basic essentials that will be useful to patients and pillow.

THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOUR HOSPITAL STAY

Clean Ward

  1. Only one companion is allowed to help you through your hospital stay.
  2. Be reminded that the person closest to you, can make decisions about your care in case you cannot do that for yourself.
  3.  Appliances are not allowed inside the room (electric fan, nebulizer, electric kettle etc.)
  4. Gadgets are allowed inside the facility.
  5. Below 21 years old are not allowed as companion.
  6. Bringing personal items will have waiver/consent that will be given by admitting section.
  7. Feeding bottles for Pediatrics are not allowed inside.

ORANGE WARD ADMISSION

  1. For pediatric admission during COVID 19 pandemic, only one companion is allowed per patient, additional companion once with approval by Pedia IDS
  2. PPE must be worn by the companion at all times during patient admission (face mask, face shield and gown) it will be given by the nursing staff.
  3. Strictly no visitors allowed.
  4. Any companion may request additional food to dietary department upon admission and will be served by scheduled time of serving to patient and will be charged to patient’s account.
  5. Appliances are not allowed inside the room (electric fan, nebulizer, electric kettle etc.)
  6. Gadgets are allowed inside the facility.
  7. Below 21 years old are not allowed as companion.
  8. Companion is strictly not allowed to go outside the station during the confinement, it can be allowed to go outside once transferred in clean ward admission.
  9. Bringing personal items will have waiver/consent that will be given by admitting section.
  10. Feeding bottles for Pediatrics are not allowed inside.
  11. Senior Citizen ages 60-up, Pediatric ages 18 and below, Unstable patients, PWDs must have one companion.

ICU admission for orange ward and clean ward

1. Relatives are not allowed inside the ICU.
2. Relatives are not allowed in waiting area.

OUTPATIENT CONSULTATION GUIDE

GMCL Outpatient Department offers broad and in-depth range of medical and surgical services. It is staffed by our efficient OPD personnel and dedicated and hardworking Medical Specialists.

OPD Schedule

We are open from Monday to Saturday (8:00 am – 7:00 pm) and closed on Sundays and during Legal Holidays.

Steps in Outpatient Consultation

  • Patients will go to the Information Desk at the Ground floor for decking.
  • Walk-in patients as well as private patients with HMO will be given a charge slip for HMO approval.
  • Walk-in patients on cash basis will be given a Doctors slip and will be directed to proceed to the designated OPD floor.
  • Private patient on cash basis will proceed to designated OPD floor.
  • In cases of patients with suspected communicable disease, the patient will be ask to stay at the isolation room. If the patient have HMO, the OPD information on duty will go to HMO Department for HMO approval. The OPD information on duty will call the designated floor for patient registration.
  • Patients will go to the designated OPD floor to register on a first come, first served basis per doctor.

EMERGENCY ROOM SERVICES

When you arrive at our emergency room, our nurses on duty will take your history and perform brief examination and vital signs. Triaging and prioritization takes place based on your medical history and current condition. The registration process is vital. It lets the Emergency staff gather information for your patient records.

Every patient who comes to the Emergency Room of Global Medical Center of Laguna receives excellent treatment from our House Physicians.  Depending on the assessment, the House Physicians will advise if there is a need for a series of laboratory and diagnostic examination. During your treatment, the staff in the Emergency Room will make sure that you are comfortable and, more importantly, informed of any developments regarding your condition.

Our ER House Physician will re-evaluate your condition after they receive your test results which may give them additional insight into the type of treatment that your condition requires. He/she determines whether you should be admitted to the hospital or be sent home.

You will receive written medical prescription from our House Physician and the Nurses will instruct you regarding the prescribed medication and follow-up check-ups. It is important to fully understand all instructions.
